LABEL LITERACY

Check online ingredient lists before you copy

Find a usable cosmetic ingredient list online and verify that it matches the product, variant and packaging you are researching.

Start with the exact manufacturer page

Search for the full product name and variant. Look for the ingredient declaration rather than a section highlighting a few featured ingredients. A marketing description that mentions two components is not a complete list to analyze.

Check the market and packaging

A similar name on a retailer page may refer to a different size, version or market. Compare it with the packaging you own. If the two sources conflict, do not silently combine them into a new list. Keep them separate and ask the manufacturer which declaration applies.

Preserve your source

Keep the source URL and the date you checked it in your own records. This makes a later formula comparison easier to understand. When you paste into Elasal, include only the ingredient declaration and verify that the website has not truncated it behind a read-more control.

Your practical checklist

  • Use the complete declaration, not a featured-ingredients list.
  • Expand collapsed ingredient sections before copying.
  • Check the copied list against your own packaging.
