What an ingredient scanner cannot tell you

Understand the limits of cosmetic ingredient scanning, from missing concentrations to incomplete labels and personal suitability.

A list is not the finished formula

An ingredient declaration names components, but it does not disclose the full formulation process. A scanner cannot reconstruct every concentration, manufacturing step or interaction from names alone. Two products with similar-looking lists can still feel and perform differently.

Unknown means unknown

An unclear photograph, an unrecognized spelling or an incomplete list reduces what can be explained. A hidden fragrance mixture cannot be reliably reconstructed from a broad label term. Elasal makes room for missing information instead of inventing ingredients that were not provided.

Information is not a personal prediction

A role assigned to an ingredient describes a use of that ingredient, not a guaranteed outcome from your product. A scanner cannot diagnose a condition or promise that a formula will suit everyone. Use the review to ask better questions, read the product instructions and identify where you need information from the manufacturer.

Your practical checklist

  • Check the label input for omissions.
  • Read limitations alongside ingredient explanations.
  • Do not interpret missing information as proof of suitability.
